Update regarding the construction of Yonge street between Stouffville Rd and King Rd (2km)
Project Update
Extended night paving will be occurring on Yonge Street from Stouffville Road to King Road in an effort to lessen the impact on traffic and complete the road work sooner.
Southbound lanes of Yonge Street will be paved from 8 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 to Sunday, July 28, 2024 and northbound lanes will be paved from 8 p.m. on Wednesday July 31 to Friday August 2.
Upon learning about the Yonge St. road work in Oak Ridges, on top of all the other ongoing construction in Oak Ridges, including King Road, I immediately inquired with City Staff about the possibility of delaying or expediting the work. I am pleased to see York Region taking this action as it will speed up the project timeline. While road construction is always inconvenient, it is necessary.
