Recap:

All agenda items were approved by council including the Cultural Grants, Windrow Program Review, traffic regulation changes, additional pole-mounted radar speed message boards and a number of amendment applications.


Added to the agenda and unanimously approved by Council was a Member Motion by Mayor West endorsing the inclusion of a Flight PS-752 Memorial in Unity Park (by Town Park).


Agenda Items Include:

  • 2024 Community and Cultural Grant Program

    • To present the 2024 Community and Cultural Grant Program applications, and obtain approval to reward funds to successful applicants.

  • Windrow Program Review

    • Report on the status, performance, cost, and potential enhancements to the City’s Windrow Program.

    • At the June 28, 2023 Council meeting, a motion was passed directing staff to report back with a comprehensive review of the Windrow Program that explores ways to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the program and includes an assessment of options with associated financial impacts.

  • Traffic Regulation Changes (Speed Limit, Parking and Turn Restrictions)

    • To seek Council approval for changes to speed limit, parking, and traffic control regulations on various City streets

  • 2024/2025 Locations for Pole-Mounted Radar Speed Message Board Program

    • To seek Council approval for the installation of pole-mounted radar speed message boards at various locations within the City for 2024/2025, as part of the annual Pole Mounted Radar Speed Message Board Program.

  • Notice of Intention to Designate - Various Heritage properties

Amendment Applications for Approval by Council

  • Request for Approval – Draft Plan of Condominium – Metroview Developments (Westwood) Inc. – 8888 Yonge Street

    • To request approval of a draft Plan of Condominium application related to a high-density mixed-use residential/commercial development that is currently under construction

  • Request for Approval – Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment Applications – Neuhaus Developments – 9593 Bathurst Street

    • A request for approval concerning Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment applications to permit a four (4) storey residential apartment building

  • Request for Approval – Zoning By-law Amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision Applications – Weldrick West Developments 20-26 Inc., Weldrick West Developments 24-28 Inc., Weldrick West Developments 30 Inc.

    • A request for approval concerning Zoning By-law Amendment and draft Plan of Subdivision applications to permit a residential development comprised of 42 townhouse dwelling units

  • Request for Approval – Zoning By-law Amendment Application – Sridhar Methuku – 257 Harris Avenue

    • A request for approval concerning a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment application to permit the construction of six (6) semi-detached dwelling units

  • Request for Approval – Zoning By-law Amendment Application – 2575563 Ontario Inc. – 152, 160, 166, 172 and 178 Major Mackenzie Drive East and 123 Ruggles Avenue

    • A request for approval concerning a Zoning By-law Amendment application to permit the construction of a medium density residential development to be comprised of 35 back-to-back townhouse dwelling units
