Agenda Items Include:


Capital Budget for 2025

  • The proposed 2025 Capital Budget is $86,665,200, which includes project management and overhead costs. This budget is funded from various sources, including tax-supported reserve funds, development charges, and cash-in-lieu of parkland reserve funds.


Key Initiatives

  • Transportation: Significant investments in roadway systems, including the reconstruction of Maple Grove Avenue, Arnold Crescent, and the replacement of Pemberton Road culverts. This also includes rehabilitation of 27 lane km of roads, replacement of 3 km of watermains, and installation of 19 new traffic signals.

  • Parks and Recreation: Revitalization of parks and recreational facilities such as Bridgeview Park, Civic Lands Interim Passive Park, and repairs/replacement of park structures and playgrounds at Town Park and Unity Park.

  • Water Distribution: Improvements along Yonge Street and the installation/replacement of water meters to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the water supply.

  • Municipal Services: Enhancements include the North Operations Yard Connor Room Retrofit, investments in IT infrastructure, and the replacement of mechanical equipment to improve operational efficiency.


Funding Sources

  • The budget is funded from:

    • $33.3 million from Tax Supported Reserve Funds

    • $23 million from Development Charges Reserve Funds

    • $6 million from Cash-in-Lieu of Parkland Reserve Fund

    • Other specified reserve funds and external sources.

 

Public Comments: 

The public may submit written correspondence regarding agenda items by email to clerks@richmondhill.ca. Written correspondence must be submitted by 12 p.m. (noon) one business day before the meeting. Comments submitted will be provided to all Members of Council, are considered as public information and will be included on the public agenda posted to the City’s website.


Delegations: 

Any person who wishes to speak to Council on agenda items must pre-register with the Office of the Clerk by 12 p.m. (noon) one business day before the meeting. Applications to appear as a delegation can be submitted by email to clerks@richmondhill.ca or by using the on-line application form. Delegations can be in person, or electronically by video conference or telephone. The Office of the Clerk will provide instructions on appearing as a delegation.
